FAQ

1. What services does Iaomai Academy offer?
Iaomai Academy currently offers two types of academic support:
Academic Reset
A five-week academic coaching program for students who want to do well in school but are struggling and need guidance, planning, and accountability.
Iaomai Advantage Virtual Saturdays
A small-group, live online program for students in grades 9-10 that builds essential skills in reading, writing, note-taking, and executive functioning for success in high school and beyond.
2. Who are these programs for?
We support high school and undergraduate students who:

-
Want to succeed but feel overwhelmed
-
Are behind in one or more classes
-
Struggle with organization or follow-through
-
Need structure and accountability
-
Are motivated to learn but need help accessing their potential
-
Need to improve foundational skills in reading, writing, or executive functioning
3. What is the difference between Academic Reset and Virtual Saturdays?
Academic Reset is individualized academic coaching focused on planning, guidance, and accountability. Virtual Saturdays are small-group programs focused on teaching foundational academic skills. Academic Reset helps students to create an academic recovery plan. Virtual Saturdays help students build and strengthen literacy skills.
4. How do students enroll?
For Academic Reset:
Families complete an intake form. After review, families are contacted with next steps if the program is a good fit.
For Virtual Saturdays:
Families complete a separate registration form and must receive approval, since this is a pilot cohort program.
5. Can students move between programs?
Students cannot join Virtual Saturdays after the first three meetings of a current cohort. If a student completes Academic Reset after the first three meetings of Virtual Saturdays, they may be considered for a future cohort.
6. Is this tutoring or therapy?
No. Iaomai Academy provides academic coaching and skill-building instruction. We do not offer subject-specific tutoring, therapy, or crisis services.
7. How are parents involved?
For high school students, parents receive onboarding information and periodic updates. Day-to-day communication is student-centered to encourage independence. College students receive direct coaching and are independently responsible for their progress in the Academic Reset program.
8. Are refunds available?
Because space is limited and programs involve personalized planning, refunds are not offered once a program has begun.
9. How do we get started?
Choose the program you are interested in and complete the appropriate form. For Academic Reset, complete the intake form. For Virtual Saturdays, complete the registration form and wait for approval. Families will receive next steps for either program after their form is reviewed.
