Winter Writer's Workshop
Inaugural Winter Writer’s Workshop
Fun, Holiday-Focused Handwriting Camp for Grades 4-8
December 22–23 & 29–30, 2025 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
This is not “extra school.” These are four calm, creative mornings where 4th-8th graders actually enjoy practicing handwriting because every drill leads to a beautiful, take-home gift that all family members can enjoy. Students can attend all four days or sign up to drop-in on specific date.

We address the real problems older kids face with messy letters, slow speed, and embarrassment through with short, targeted practice and then immediately apply those skills to fun, holiday-themed projects. Enrollment is capped at only 12 students for this program. Snacks will be provided, but students can bring their own as well.

Who This Program Is Perfect For

-
4th–8th graders whose handwriting is messy or slow but who can write independently
-
Kids who get frustrated with their own writing or avoid it
-
Students who enjoy art, stories, and holiday crafts
-
Homeschool or public/private school students looking for a calm, creative break option
Important Note: This is an enrichment-style handwriting program taught in a small group. We are unable to accommodate severe developmental delays, significant fine-motor/special-education needs, or 1:1 behavioral supports. If you have questions about fit, please email us at info@iaomaiacademy.com before registering.

Day-by-Day Breakdown

Day 1: Monday, December 22
Handwriting Glow-Up + Handmade Holiday Cards
We start with posture, grip, and letter-formation fixes, then students create 6-8 premium holiday cards with metallic gel pens. These are perfect for giving to family and teachers.

Day 2: Tuesday, December 23
Handwriting Refresh + Illustrated Holiday Postcards
Focus on even spacing, consistent sizing, and writing longer messages comfortably. Students design 3–4 large, colorful postcards (real memories or imaginary winter places).

Day 3: Wednesday, December 29
Storytelling + Mini Storybook
Students choose a winter prompt, write and illustrate an original 10–12 page story or comic, then assemble it into a folded, stapled/stitched book they can proudly share with family.

Day 4: Thursday, Dec 30
Holiday Traditions Around the World & Passport Project
We practice clear headings, lists, and tiny labeling while learning about winter celebrations around the world. Each student creates a thick passport booklet with hand-drawn flags, maps, greetings, and custom stamps.
