Earlier this month, Iaomai Academy anticipated pausing operations for the entire school year. After a closer look at the needs in Fredericksburg, it became clear that middle school students, often caught between elementary and high school, require more support and stronger options.

Iaomai Academy is reviving its daytime microschool program, redesigned to focus exclusively on grades 6 through 8. This decision is based on prior success working with a middle school student during the 2024-2025 school year. Through a tailored and supportive program, that student grew in confidence, built strong academic foundations, and entered high school fully prepared for success. Iaomai Academy is eager to extend that same opportunity to more students in the community.

The microschool program requires a minimum of six students to open. This approach ensures a small, personal, and responsive learning environment where middle school students can thrive both academically and socially.
